Lifestyle & Culture

The thing is it’s not even like I’m that private, it’s more that I’m usually split in two on the way I feel about things. I’m trying to change, grow, evolve and this means that a static description of self is not the best representative means of finding out more about me.

As much as I am a perfectionist and like to plan things out to the smallest detail, life doesn’t live by my schedule. I’m not sure what tomorrow holds for me, what I goals I should be setting and what future self I should be striving for. I’m picking up life experience along the way, and am hoping that will help me find out what I should be doing.

I’m an atheist, but the beauty of hope and faith which have been twisted and turned into weapons by religion are - in their pure forms - a source of great spiritual strength for me.

Am I an artist? I lack the creative discipline to devote to my art, or perhaps the opportunity to do so. Am I a technologist? I lack the ability to quantify each and every detail and lose myself in the cold machinations of technology. I am split down the middle again, jack of all trades, master of none. Having one and not the other is completely dissatisfying, and so I remain on the fence.

I don’t eat meat, fish, poultry and try not to consume milk or eggs if I can help it. My reasons are my own, it seems like it has been a long time, but I remember the people who have been on this path since they were born, and it humbles me. It’s about finding a balance I think, sustainability perhaps.

I live to travel, I am not sure of the psychology behind it, and am not sure I want to. I love connecting with countrysides, city streets, architecture, language, food, the whole wow of being in a new place never stops exciting me. I love revisiting places I’ve loved in the past, Quebec City for example, Halifax, Vancouver, etc..

Much-edited list of places I long to visit: Ireland, Scotland, England, Wales, Russia, Spain, Italy, Iceland, the Netherlands, Sweden, Norway, Thailand, India, Lebanon, Albania, Turkey, Egypt, Brazil, Bali, Australia, New Zealand, Antarctica, Japan, China, etc. etc.

I can’t think of anything else, mostly because I take an awful lot for granted. If you have questions, I’ll try my best to answer them.
